Father Paul is keeping close watch on Tropical Storm Barry and the likely weather the storm is bringing to our area. At this time, there are no changes to our Mass schedules; if this happens, it will be posted on our website (http://www.cathedralbr.org), on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SJCathedralBR), and on Twitter (@CathedralBR).
So, at present:
Friday, 7/12: the Parish Office remains open for its normal Friday hours, closing at 12 noon; there will be the usual confessions heard in the Cathedral at 11:30 am, and our noontime daily Mass begins at 12:05 pm
Saturday, 7/13: Confessions will be heard in the Cathedral at 3:00 pm, and the usual anticipated vigil Mass will be celebrated at 4 pm
Sunday, 7/14: the regular Sunday Masses will be offered in the Cathedral at 8:30 and 10:30 am. Coffee and donuts will be available in the Parish Hall after Mass. But there will NOT be a Nursery for children during the 10:30 Mass.
Monday, 7/15: the Parish Office will be open for its normal Monday hours, from 7 am until 4 pm, except for lunch from 12 noon to 1 pm; there will be the usual confessions heard in the Cathedral at 11:30 am, and our noontime daily Mass begins at 12:05 pm. The "Hawai'ian Pot Luck Supper" will go on at 6 pm in the Parish Hall.
Remember, there is never an obligation to worship at Sunday Mass if out of an abundance of caution one honestly judges that it would be unwise or dangerous. Since so many Cathedral parishioners live at some distance from downtown, please take the responsibility to make a good and reasonable judgment about this. Never drive through floodwaters or near other hazards.
Thank you.
