St. Joseph Cathedral Parish Hall
Speaker: Tori Harris
Author, Musician, Worship Leader

Author, worship leader, and speaker, Tori Harris remains committed to the core of her mission: to create environments of receptivity to the Holy Spirit through story and song. Tori is from Baton Rouge and grew up as a parishioner of nearby Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She attended Sacred Heart School and St. Joseph’s Academy. Tori then moved to Nashville, Tennessee,  and began a religious music career there. She has performed at major Christian music festivals, made several appearances at March for Life events in New York City with its archbishop, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, and has shared music for retreats led by popular author Immaculee Ilibagiza.

While in NYC, Tori pursued her interest in the gifts of the Holy Spirit with a group of scholars, clergy and lay people at Dunwoody Seminary. There she discovered a new understanding of the Sacraments of Initiation, the lives of the saints, and the role of the Holy Spirit in evangelization. She moved to Dallas, Texas, where her dream of teaching others to cooperate with the gifts of the Holy Spirit led her to develop Arise Ministry with her pastor, Fr. Michael D. Forge, at Mary Immaculate Parish in Farmers Branch. The mission statement for Arise Ministry is “... to train, equip, and send into the world members of the faithful to operate in the fullness of the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church.” She has written the book, Holy Spirit 101, for the program. In February 2016, the curriculum received an imprimatur from Bishop (now Cardinal) Kevin Farrell of Dallas. Tori lives there in Dallas with her family where her inspiring faith and unique story continue to grow in her and in others.
